Organised by the African Baobab Alliance the first Baobab Congress took place in Erlangen on the 11th of February alongside the BioFach trade fair. A variety of participants ranging from baobab producers, food manufactures as well as researchers were present. Current trends in the market of baobab products as well as recent research findings, including ecological as well as health aspects, were presented. Furthermore, directions for future research were discussed and possibilities explored how the baobab sector could be boosted in a sustainable manner.
